US President Donald Trump allegedly called the Palm Beach Police Department in 2006 to thank them for investigating Jeffrey Epstein while warning them to focus on the 'evil' Ghislaine Maxwell, according to an FBI document among the released 'Epstein files'.

According to Reuters.

Newly released FBI records have raised new questions about US President Donald Trump's claim that he knew nothing about the crimes of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In July 2006, when Epstein's first allegations of sex crimes became public, the Palm Beach police chief received a call from Trump, according to a 2019 FBI interview with the police chief that was among the files.

The same police chief, Michael Reiter, quoted Trump. According to him, he told him: "Thank God you're stopping him, everyone knew he was doing this."

Also, according to the document, Trump told the police chief in Palm Beach that people in New York knew about Epstein and warned him that Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's associate, was "evil." Trump also said that he was once with Epstein when there were teenagers there, and that he "ran away from there."

Michael Reiter resigned in 2009. However, he has now confirmed the details of the FBI interview to the Miami Herald.

The Department of Justice, when asked about the interview, replied:

"We are not aware of any corroborating evidence that the President had contact with law enforcement 20 years ago."

The publication noted that Trump was friendly with Epstein for many years, but, according to Trump, they had a falling out before Epstein's first arrest. The President has also repeatedly stated that he was unaware of Epstein's crimes.

Recall that on January 30, the US Department of Justice published more than 3 million additional pages under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, including videos and images.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kremlin said that it did not even want to waste time answering questions about the assumptions of Western media and the Polish Prime Minister that the sex offender, American financier Jeffrey Epstein, could be an agent of russian intelligence.

Meanwhile, mentions of russian conductor Valery Gergiev appeared in the so-called "Epstein files". His name appears in e-mail correspondence attributed to financier Jeffrey Epstein and his contacts.
