American Raytheon confirms its readiness to accelerate supply of missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine

The American company Raytheon confirmed its readiness to accelerate the supply of missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine.

This was announced by the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the American company RTX discussed the acceleration of the supply of missiles for Patriot systems and the transition to deep industrial cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

This was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Defense Minister Serhii Boyev and a delegation of the American military-industrial company RTX, led by Raytheon's executive director in Ukraine Jennifer Pushner.

The parties discussed strategic areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies and building domestic technical capabilities for servicing advanced weapons.

Boyev stressed the critical importance of air defense systems for protecting Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure facilities against the backdrop of the aggressor's recent massive air attacks.

"Raytheon representatives confirmed their readiness to accelerate the supply of missiles for Patriot systems through direct contracts and international support mechanisms," the report says.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the current status and plans for servicing and maintaining air defense and missile defense systems in service with the Defense Forces.

The parties paid special attention to discussing the possibilities of transitioning from the supply of ready-made systems to deep industrial cooperation.

The Ministry of Defense expressed interest in creating a base in Ukraine for maintenance and repair of Western equipment.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in late January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the russians managed to hit the thermal power plant in Kyiv because the missiles for NASAMS and Patriot arrived late due to a delay in payment under the PURL program.
