Police do not rule out murder: famous Ukrainian banker dies in downtown Milan

A famous Ukrainian banker, 54-year-old Oleksandr Adarych, died under unclear circumstances in an elite district of Milan. This is reported by the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

The man's body was found on January 23 in the courtyard of a five-story building on Nerino Street. According to preliminary information, Adarych fell from the fourth floor, but Italian law enforcement officers are considering more than just the version of an accident. The police admit that the death could have been violent.

CCTV cameras recorded two people who left the building after the man fell. Investigators are currently establishing their identities and possible involvement in the incident. The house's concierge also reported that after the incident, someone was in the deceased's apartment and asked in English "what happened?", after which they left.

The identification of the deceased was complicated by documents found in the apartment with his photographs, but with different names. This became an additional factor for a more thorough examination of the circumstances of death.

Investigators are investigating whether violent actions could have been used even before he fell from the window. Forensic medical examination must establish whether Oleksandr Adarych was alive at the time of the fall. The case is currently being considered as a possible premeditated murder, in particular with the version of a staged suicide.

Oleksandr Adarych had dual citizenship - of Ukraine and Romania - and was well-known in financial circles. Until 2008, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Ukrsibbank, later headed Fidobank, as well as the investment fund AS Zrostannia. According to open sources, he was on the lists of leading top managers and had business interests in structures from Luxembourg and other countries.
