On Sunday, January 25, Ukrzaliznytsia launched special heating and rest cars at the Chełm railway station. This decision was a response to the protracted reconstruction of the local station, which has been underway since 2024, and the need to provide comfort to thousands of Ukrainians. It was reported by the Ukrainian Railways.

Chełm is a key logistics hub where trains from Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro arrive for onward connections to Berlin, Warsaw, and other European cities.

"Approximately three thousand passengers pass through Chełm every day," Ukrzaliznytsia said.

The "invincibility cars" offer comfort - the cars are located directly on the third platform. Here you can keep warm, charge your gadgets and drink hot tea.

One of the cars is also equipped with a play area, as well as places for feeding and changing babies.

Another car houses part of Howard Buffett's photo collection, which was previously exhibited on the "Art Train."

On the first day of operation, more than 100 passengers used the services of the station. The project aims to make long transfers in Chełm less tiring for Ukrainians.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukrzaliznytsia is expanding a pilot project with access to the internet on trains.
