Capital of Ukraine and four more regions - Zelenskyy reports on consequences of russian attack

At night, russia massively attacked the regions of Ukraine, launching more than 370 attack drones and 21 missiles of various types. Kyiv and its region, the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv Regions were under attack.

This is stated in the message of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Telegram channel.

In Kharkiv, a maternity hospital, a dormitory where IDPs lived, a medical college and residential buildings were damaged. As of now, there are dozens of wounded people, including a child.

In the capital and the region, the main target for the russians was the energy sector.

"Unfortunately, the life of one person was taken by this attack. My condolences to the family and friends. All the necessary services are now working at the sites of the Russian strikes, eliminating all the consequences. Rescuers, doctors, utilities, power engineers, repair teams. I am grateful to each and every person involved. I am grateful to all the air defense soldiers who repelled the attack," the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that each such russian attack on the energy sector proves that it is impossible to delay the supply of air defense systems.

"We cannot turn a blind eye to these strikes, we must respond, and respond with force. We are counting on the response and assistance of all our partners. Each missile to Patriot, NASAMS, and all other systems helps to protect critical infrastructure and help people get through the cold of winter. We must implement everything we agreed with President Trump in Davos on air defense. I thank everyone who helps protect lives," the Head of State added.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Saturday, January 24, russian troops launched 396 air attack means over the territory of Ukraine, and air defense forces neutralized 372 targets: 15 missiles and 357 drones of various types.
