During the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 20, representatives of 20 countries signed the charter of a new international organization called the Board of Peace, headed by US President Donald Trump.
It was broadcast on the official White House YouTube channel.
Aside from the United States, the signing was attended by leaders and representatives of Albania, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Armenia, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Morocco, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Hungary, and Uzbekistan. During the ceremony, Trump called each of them his friend.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters the same day that he had also received an invitation to join the Board of Peace. Ukrainian diplomats are currently working on this invitation. Zelenskyy noted that it was difficult to imagine how Ukraine could participate in the Board of Peace, which also invited russian president vladimir putin and self-proclaimed Belarusian president Aleksandr Lukashenko.
According to the Financial Times, citing two sources, before accepting the invitation, Zelenskyy wants to get more information about the principles of the Board's work, whether it will have real independence and whether its activities will replace the structure envisaged in the draft peace plan for russia's war against Ukraine.
What is known about Trump's "Board of Peace"?
On September 30, 2025, in Washington, D.C., Donald Trump unveiled a new 20-point peace plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. One of the key elements of the plan was the creation of a "Board of Peace" headed by Trump and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The plan provides for an amnesty for Hamas and the status of a "deradicalized zone" for Gaza.
According to the Financial Times, the United States is considering expanding the mandate of the Board of Peace to include Ukraine and Venezuela, as well as the possibility of it becoming an alternative to the UN to resolve global conflicts. As of January 21, more than ten countries have already confirmed their participation in the Board of Peace, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Israel, and Vietnam.
We would like to remind you that the "Board of Peace" also invited the leader of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and the head of the kremlin vladimir putin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also invited.
