It is noted that the relevant wreckage has the status of material evidence and is being prepared for in-depth examination.
Security Service of Ukraine investigators qualify the use of this weapon against the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine as a war crime by the aggressor country, russia.
According to preliminary data, the enemy launched an Oreshnik medium-range surface-to-surface missile from the russian Kapustyn Yar test site.
"By attacking civilian objects of our state near the border with the European Union, the Kremlin tried to destroy the life support infrastructure of the region in the face of sharply deteriorating weather conditions," the special service emphasized.
SSU investigators are establishing all the circumstances, as well as the organizers and perpetrators of this war crime of the russian federation in order to bring them to justice.
The pre-trial investigation under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes) is ongoing.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of January 8, the aggressor country russia launched a missile attack on Lviv and the region, using a ballistic missile traveling at a speed of about 13,000 kilometers per hour. A critical infrastructure facility came under attack.
