President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed condolences to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albenese in connection with the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach and reported that among the victims there were six people of Ukrainian origin.
He reported this on social networks.
"I personally expressed my condolences to the Prime Minister in connection with the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach last month. Six victims are of Ukrainian origin. Our solidarity with all the relatives and friends of the victims," the message says.
In addition, the President informed that they discussed the defense of Ukraine and russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities with the Australian Prime Minister. According to him, Albenese promised to help.
"I spoke about the diplomatic situation and informed about the next steps. The Prime Minister noted our efforts. Thank you for the kind words about Ukraine and Ukrainians," he added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 14, unknown assailants opened fire on people who had gathered to light a Hanukkah candle on a beach in Sydney. It was reported that 15 people were killed and 42 more were injured.
In particular, a native of Uzhhorod, Tibor Witzen, and another native of Ukraine, Alex Kleitman, was killed as a result of the terrorist attack at an event dedicated to Hanukkah.
