The aggressor country russia is spreading propaganda narratives about the alleged possibility of quickly capturing Zaporizhzhia, which is impossible in reality. Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, said this on his Telegram channel on Tuesday, December 30.

Kovalenko emphasized that russia's statements about the alleged breakthrough to Zaporizhzhia are an information operation. According to him, this is how dictator putin is trying to show the West that his troops have almost broken through the front and taken the regional center.

"In fact, Russia is using only the information component of the fighting, while the battle zone lies in a swampy area with natural obstacles in the form of water bodies, which makes it impossible even theoretically for the Russians to break through to Zaporizhzhia. The defense forces are destroying the Russians every day," emphasized the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation.

According to Kovalenko, russia is trying to raise the stakes and undermine the peace process, thus demonstrating its unwillingness to end the war against Ukraine.
