Rally in support of Ukraine took place on west coast of Ireland

On Friday, October 24, the Ukrainian organization UHUG (Ukrainians Helping Ukrainians Galway) held a rally in support of Ukraine in Galway, Ireland.

The purpose of the event was to remind the city's residents and visitors that russia's war against Ukraine continues, and Ukrainians need the support and solidarity of the entire international community more than ever. A convoy of cars decorated with Ukrainian flags and posters with slogans drove through the streets of the city: Support Ukraine, Stop Russian Aggression, Justice for Ukraine, Victory for Ukraine - Peace for Europe.

The route of the rally passed through key points of the city: from St. Joseph's Community Center through Galway Cathedral, the main square Eyre Square and Spanish Arch to the coastal district of Salthill.

"In the fourth year of the full-scale war, the world's attention to the events in Ukraine is getting weaker and weaker. And against the backdrop of attempts to peacefully resolve the conflict, many people have the impression that the war is about to end. That is why it is very important to hold such events to remind people that Russia continues to terrorize Ukrainians, destroy Ukrainian cities, and take human lives, mercilessly firing hundreds of drones and missiles every day. And most importantly, the Russians do not abandon their original goal - the complete occupation and destruction of Ukrainian statehood," said Natalia Kornienko, coordinator of the action, representative of Ukrainians Helping Ukrainians Galway (UHUG), writer and journalist.

From now on, similar events in support of Ukraine in the Galway will be held monthly, on the 24th of February, with a reference to February 24, 2022, when the full-scale invasion began. The initiative to take to the streets of Irish cities on the 24th of each month was launched by Ukrainians in County Kerry, who marched peacefully through the streets of Tralee on September 24. And today they organized an online flash mob, telling, in particular, about yesterday's shelling of a kindergarten in Kharkiv and missile attacks on residential buildings in Kyiv.
