A russian military aircraft was shot down at night by its own air defense system, which was targeting drones. Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, has reported this on Apostrophe.
Information about the crash is currently being collected.
"The Ukrainians repelled the attacks so well that they managed to shoot down their own plane today over Crimea. The fight continues. All information is being collected in Crimea," Pletenchuk said.
He also emphasized that after the night strikes on the temporarily occupied peninsula, a fire broke out at another russian oil depot.
On the night of October 17, two powerful explosions occurred in Simferopol and the Simferopol District. In Hvardiiske, an oil depot is on fire, which, according to preliminary data, belongs to the ATAN gas station chain. This chain (which is part of the company Kedr LLC) is the largest owner of gas stations, warehouses and fuel trucks in Crimea.
As a reminder, on the night of August 10, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stuck at the Saratov Oil Refinery.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, meanwhile, on the night of October 13, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The most powerful of them were recorded in Feodosia, where a local oil depot caught fire as a result of an attack.
