Due to mass departure of Hasidic pilgrims, queues at the border with Moldova and Poland increase - State Border Guard Service

Due to the end of the Rosh Hashanah celebration and the mass departure of Hasidic pilgrims from Ukraine, an increase in passenger and transport flow is recorded at checkpoints on the border with Moldova and Poland. The State Border Guard Service has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The State Border Guard Service notes that additional teams have been deployed to reduce queues at checkpoints and measures are being taken to speed up the registration of citizens.

Border guards ask to take into account the current situation when planning trips and, if possible, choose less busy destinations.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, as of September 22, more than 35,000 Hasidim arrived in Uman (Cherkasy Region) to celebrate the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah.
