On the European electricity market, Ukraine remains among the countries with the highest prices.
According to data published by the electricity market operator, the average price of electricity on the day-ahead market in Ukraine in August 2025 was UAH 5,188.78/MWh.
According to this indicator, Ukraine took the fifth position in the cost of electricity for industry in Europe.
According to ENTSOE, the most expensive electricity is now in the Baltic countries:
in Estonia - UAH 5,475.59/MWh;
in Italy - UAH 5,473.93/MWh;
in Lithuania and Latvia - UAH 5,468.97/MWh.
Ukraine occupies the fifth line of the ranking with a price of 5,188.78 UAH/MWh. Poland is following us with an indicator of 5,101.04 UAH/MWh.
We remind you that since August 1, 2025, the maximum and minimum limit prices for electricity have been increased in Ukraine on the "day-ahead" market. Depending on the settlement period (time of day), they range from UAH 5,600 to UAH 15,000/MWh.
Such an increase in prices has already caused a negative reaction from large industrial consumers of electricity. For example, the largest metallurgical enterprise of Ukraine, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, has already stated that it is incurring losses due to high electricity prices and is considering a possible exit from Ukraine.
