In July 2025, 1,674 civilians became victims of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country russia. This is a new high in the last three years.
It was reported by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) on August 13.
Last month, 286 civilians were killed due to hostilities. Another 1,388 civilians were injured and traumatized. This is the highest figure since May 2022 and higher than the statistics for June 2025.
Almost 40% (89 killed and 572 injured) of the above figure were victims of the use of long-range weapons, including missiles and loitering munitions.
The second cause of death (24%) of people was unmanned aerial vehicles with a short range. They killed 64 people and injured 337.
The HRMMU emphasized that the aerial bombs, which the russian army drops in thousands along the front line and in the near rear, were the main reason for the rapid increase in the number of civilian casualties. In July 2025, 276 people (67 killed and 209 injured) became victims of their use, compared to 114 civilians (34 killed and 80 injured) in June 2025.
In total, since the beginning of the russian federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the HRMMU has documented the deaths of at least 13,800 civilians. Another 35,500 civilians were injured and traumatized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in June this year, russian occupiers killed 232 Ukrainian civilians. Another 1,300 people were injured.
As a reminder, in June, the non-governmental human rights organization Human Rights Watch stated that in Kherson, russian UAV units were "hunting" for civilians, purposefully attacking them on the streets of the city.
