Inflation will depend on the impact of weather conditions on harvest in coming months – NBU

The National Bank reported that price growth in the coming months will depend on the actual impact of weather conditions on the supply and prices of agricultural products.

The NBU has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The dynamics of inflation in the coming months will largely depend on the actual impact of weather conditions on the supply and prices of agricultural products. According to preliminary estimates by the NBU, in July, overall inflation may increase slightly, while core inflation will continue to decline. In the coming months, inflation is expected to enter a trajectory of sustained deceleration," the NBU reported.

At the same time, taking into account more significant losses from the war and the further transfer of rising business costs to prices, the deterioration of the harvest forecast and the effects of the actual weakening of the hryvnia against the euro, the NBU revised the forecast inflation trajectory towards a slower decline.

It is expected to slow down to 9.7% in 2025, 6.6% in 2026, and the target of 5% in 2027.

Monetary policy measures, a gradual increase in yields, moderate external price pressure, and an improvement in the labor market situation against the backdrop of a stable foreign exchange market and sufficient international financing will contribute to the reduction in inflation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April of this year, the National Bank worsened the inflation forecast from 8.4% to 8.7% by the end of 2025.

In June 2025, consumer prices increased by 0.8%.
