President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Yurii Lutovinov as Ambassador to Japan. This is stated in decree No. 524 of July 21, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"To appoint Yurii Volodymyrovych Lutovinov as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan," the decree states.
Lutovinov previously worked as head of the department of the Department for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Office of the President since 2023, in 2022 he was deputy director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 2015-2021 he worked as a counselor-envoy of the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2020-2024, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan was Serhii Korsunskyi.
Zelenskyy also appointed former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Yuliia Sokolovska as Ambassador to Spain.
