Witkoff says US and russia are negotiating peace agreement on 5 regions of Ukraine

US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff is satisfied with the course of negotiations with the head of the kremlin vladimir putin and said that they touched on "five territories". Which ones exactly – Witkoff did not specify.

He said this on the air of the Fox News channel.

Donald Trump's Special Envoy said that the upcoming agreement will include the settlement of the so-called five territories.

"The peace agreement concerns the so-called five territories. But in fact it has a much broader context. It is about security issues, no NATO and even about Article 5. There are a lot of complex details. The situation is not easy," the American official said.

Witkoff added that there is hope for rebuilding relations between the US and russia through "some compelling commercial opportunities".

Recall that on April 11, Steve Witkoff met in Washington with the head of the russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev, who arrived in the American capital.

According to media reports, the US Special Envoy told US President Donald Trump that the shortest path to peace in Ukraine is to give the aggressor country russia control over the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions.
