The US and the aggressor country russia’s delegations held the second round of consultations held on the resumption of the work of the embassies.
This is indicated in a statement by the United States State Department on Thursday, April 10.
The State Department noted that the US delegation was led by Sonata Coulter, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Russia and Central Europe, and the russian delegation was led by Ambassador Aleksandr Darchiyev. The meeting in Istanbul was the second round of consultations after the meeting of US Secretary of State Rubio with his russian counterpart on February 27.
"Continuing the constructive approach established in the February 27 meeting, the U.S. and Russian delegations exchanged notes to finalize an understanding to ensure the stability of diplomatic banking for Russian and U.S. bilateral missions," the statement said.
The US has named the ban on hiring local staff as a key obstacle to stable staffing levels at the US Embassy in moscow.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 4, Rubio said that russia was violating the terms of the ceasefire it had agreed to some time ago.
At the same time, on April 4, the russian dictator's envoy Kirill Dmitriev told russian journalists that moscow was counting on "resuming dialogue" with the US.
