Small assault groups of the russian military are trying to enter the territory of the Sumy Region, in particular, in the directions of the settlements of Novenke or Zhuravka.
The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andrii Demchenko has reported this on TV.
"We continue to record attempts by small assault groups (from the Russian side - ed.) to enter our territory, to approach our border. Actually, their task remains unchanged: to enter the territory of the Sumy Region as deeply as possible, in the direction of the settlement of Novenke or a little to the left - in the direction of the settlement of Zhuravka. It is on this section that we record such actions of the enemy in order for it to accumulate there and expand the zone of active hostilities," he said.
According to Demchenko, all border units located in the Sumy direction are using available weapons, artillery, mortar crews, and unmanned aerial vehicles to destroy these groups, even on the approach to the Ukrainian border.
The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine specified that both on the territory of Ukraine and beyond the state border over the past 24 hours, according to confirmed data, about 15 russian servicemen were killed, more than 10 russians were wounded and were forced to withdraw from the territory of Ukraine.
Demchenko also noted that the russians are not using armored vehicles or vehicles to advance, since the terrain does not allow it. They are trying to accumulate their forces, moving on foot, in small assault groups of two to five soldiers.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian troops destroyed a bridge in the Sumy Region.
