Ukraine lost 50,000 people killed and another 300,000 wounded in war – Zaluzhnyi

Ukraine lost 50,000 people killed and another 300,000 wounded during the full-scale war with the aggressor country russia.

The former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and current Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valerii Zaluzhnyi stated this during a meeting with the community of the Ukrainian Catholic University.

"Calculate what 50,000 is from 5.5 million registered. The result is zero, because this is a critical point, which, I think, we are unlikely to pass. And at the same time, the war has changed. Absolutely. Under the influence of two factors. The first is demography. I draw your attention: 50,000 people were killed in Ukraine and about 300,000 were critically wounded. Now there is practically no one to really fight," said Zaluzhnyi.

Also, according to the former commander-in-chief, even russia, which has much better demographics, but "for them the critical mass is at least 250,000 killed."

"This does not mean that they cannot go fishing with nets to send (men) to the front. They can. They can even lead them to the front in good formation, because this is tyranny. They can do it. But will they fight? That's another matter," Zaluzhnyi added.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Valerii Zaluzhnyi believes that in order to capture russia, much more human resources are needed than Ukraine has. He also emphasized that the collapse of the russian federation is possible, but the world is not yet ready for such a scenario.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi also stated that Ukraine's membership in NATO does not guarantee political protection, and the best option for ensuring security could be joining the European security system, which still needs to be created.
