A number of European countries have expressed support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine as a whole after he left the White House early amid a dispute during a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
"Dear President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone," Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a statement.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters in Portugal that russia is the aggressor and Ukraine is a people that has been subjected to aggression.
"I think we were right to help Ukraine and impose sanctions on russia 3 years ago, and we continue to do so. … We must … respect those who fought from the very beginning," he said.
In addition, German politician and deputy leader of the Christian Democratic Union, the party of future Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Johann Wadeful also expressed support for Ukraine.
"The footage from the White House is shocking. How can you stab the President of a country that has been invaded in the back like that? Free Europe will not betray Ukraine!" he said.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez also assured Ukraine of his country's support: "Ukraine, Spain is with you."
Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed support for Ukraine, emphasizing that russia is an aggressor.
"The truth is simple. Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia is an aggressor. Ukraine is defending its freedom - and ours. We stand with Ukraine," the message on the social network X reads.
The Czech Foreign Ministry reacted to the events without words, publishing the flag of Ukraine.
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that the American side had put on a "shameful show".
"Trump and Vance put on a shameful show. I am ashamed of this behavior. The US deserves better. The free world must support Ukraine. I was and remain with Zelenskyy," he said.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda stressed that Ukraine would never go it alone, affirming the country's support.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stressed that Sweden supports Ukraine: "You are fighting not only for your freedom, but also for the freedom of all of Europe. Glory to Ukraine!".
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump repeatedly clashed during a meeting in the Oval Office of the White House.
Zelenskyy said that the agreement between Ukraine and the US on minerals is not enough to end the full-scale war being waged by the aggressor country of russia.
