Ukrainians reduced the transfer of money via payment systems to Ukraine by almost 5% to USD 2.5 billion in 2024.
This is evidenced by data from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In 2024, 24 “money transfer” payment systems operated on the territory of Ukraine, of which 15 were created by residents and 9 by non-residents (four systems from the USA, three from the UK, one each from Georgia and Canada).
Thus, last year, the volume of domestic transfers made via “money transfer” payment systems amounted to UAH 1,336.58 billion (USD 33.2 billion in equivalent).
This is 83% more than in 2023.
The average amount of one transfer within Ukraine in 2024 was UAH 1,231 (in 2023 - UAH 862).
The leader in the amount of transfers within Ukraine was the payment system PrivatMoney (56.97% of all domestic transfers).
In 2024, almost USD 2.5 billion in equivalent were transferred to Ukraine using "money transfer" payment systems (created by both residents and non-residents). This is 4.6% less than in 2023.
The average amount of one such cross-border transfer to Ukraine last year was USD 267 (in 2023 - USD 256).
Through the payment systems of "money transfer", the largest amounts of funds to Ukraine last year came from the USA (19.39%), Israel (16.80%), Germany (10.80%), Italy (10.21%) and the UK (9.41%).
The leaders in terms of the amount of transfers to Ukraine were the following three payment systems of "money transfer":
▪️Western Union (payment organization - US resident) - 37.58% of all transfers;
▪️MoneyGram (payment organization - US resident) - 19.20% of all transfers;
▪️RIA (payment organization - US resident) - 18.33% of all transfers.
It is valuable that it was through the channel of payment systems of "money transfer" that payments of humanitarian aid to Ukrainians from a number of international organizations continued in 2024.
Traditionally, in previous years, before the full-scale invasion, approximately a quarter of all private money transfers to Ukraine were received through “money transfer” payment systems.
In 2024, this trend has continued.
Thus, in total, in 2024, according to preliminary data, about USD 9.6 billion in equivalent was transferred to Ukraine from all over the world, including transfers through official channels (banks, international money transfer systems, post offices) and unofficial ones (by transferring money from hand to hand).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the volume of private money transfers in 2024 decreased by 15.2% and amounted to USD 9.6 billion.
