President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he is ready to exchange his post for Ukraine's accession to NATO.
He said this at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"If you really need me to leave my post, I am ready. I can exchange it for NATO. If there are such conditions. Immediately, so as not to talk about it for a long time," he answered a question about US President Donald Trump's statements about the presidential election.
Zelenskyy noted that he is not going to "be in power for decades."
According to him, the topic of Ukraine's accession to NATO will be on the table during negotiations on security guarantees.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, American billionaire and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk said that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy cannot "represent the will of the people" because he allegedly canceled the elections.
On February 19, US President Donald Trump called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a "dictator without elections" and said that Zelenskyy had convinced the US to "spend USD 350 billion on war."
Trump also wrote that Zelenskyy's approval rating had allegedly fallen to 4%, which is why Ukraine is demanding elections.
