According to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, French President Emmanuel Macron is calling European leaders to an urgent summit in Paris to discuss the actions of the new US President Donald Trump.
Politico reported on Sikorski's statement.
The Polish minister expects European leaders to "very seriously" discuss the problems created by Trump.
"I am very glad that President Macron has called our leaders to Paris," Sikorski said.
According to the Polish Foreign Minister, Trump's method of work is "what the russians call 'reconnaissance in force."
"You put pressure and see what happens, and then you change your position. ... And we must respond," the Polish minister said.
The meeting will take place on Monday, according to two EU officials.
It is currently unclear whether all EU leaders will attend the meeting, or just a small group of countries, or whether other European leaders, such as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, will be invited.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, who attended the Munich Security Conference with Sikorski, did not confirm nor deny the reports of an emergency summit.
Sikorski later said that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk would attend the meeting on Monday at Macron's invitation.
