US President Donald Trump says Ukraine has "essentially agreed" to give the USD 500 billion in rare earths in exchange for military aid, the New York Post reports.
"They have extremely valuable land in terms of rare earths, in terms of oil and gas, in terms of other things. I want our money to be safe because we're spending hundreds of billions of dollars," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.
According to him, Ukraine will provide the US with USD 500 billion in rare earths in exchange for military aid and ongoing support.
"I told them I needed about USD 500 billion worth of rare earths [minerals], and they basically agreed to do it. I told them: We have to get something. We can't keep paying this money," Trump added.
