In 2024, exports of goods from Ukraine to EU increased by 6% - Shmyhal

In 2024, exports of goods from Ukraine to the European Union increased by 6%.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The export figures of Ukrainian goods to Europe continue to grow. 60% of everything that Ukrainian businesses sell abroad goes to the EU. Last year, we exported goods there for almost USD 25 billion. This is 6% more than in 2023," he said.

Shmyhal noted that one of the important factors in such success was the so-called "economic visa-free regime", when most Ukrainian goods enter the EU without customs duties, tariffs and quotas.

According to him, the minimum task in trade for 2025 is to maintain the conditions for access to the European Union market at a level no worse than in 2024.

He noted that Ukraine will discuss with European partners the consolidation of "economic visa-free travel" on a permanent basis through amendments to the Association Agreement.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 7, Shmyhal reported that in 2024, Ukraine reached pre-war trade figures, exporting almost 130 million tons of goods worth more than USD 41 billion.
