In 24 hours, police officers eliminated almost fifty schemes for illegal border crossing by men of draft age in 22 regions of the country, and also announced 60 suspicions.
This is stated in a release posted on the official portal of the National Police of Ukraine.
Among the detected schemes are transfers outside the checkpoints, forgery of health documents, fictitious entries in the Shliakh information system, and others.
Among the defendants are heads of hospitals of various levels, officials of the territorial recruitment and social support centers, medical and social expert commissions and military medical commissions, as well as civilians.
They offered persons liable for military service various schemes for crossing the border. For example, to obtain a certificate from the military medical commission about unfitness for military service with exclusion from military registration or to make fake documents that give the right to travel abroad.
Among the most popular offers is to cross the border outside the checkpoints - in the forest, by boat or in a wetsuit on the river, in the trunk of a truck or in women's clothes.
According to the police, potential "clients" were sought through acquaintances and closed Telegram channels. Such "services" cost them from USD 5,000 to USD 22,000 - depending on the chosen method of illegal border crossing. The money received was legalized by the defendants through the purchase of cars and real estate, in some cases - they were taken offshore.
During the searches, the police seized lists of trafficked persons for 2024, fake documents and seals of various state bodies, weapons, black accounting, cash in various currencies.
Investigators served 60 suspicions for illegal traffic of persons across the state border. They face up to nine years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
"The first stage of the special operation has been completed, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Police officers are identifying others involved in organizing schemes for illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine during the war," the National Police of Ukraine said.
