The new head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, intends to review the algorithm for the operation of ground public transport during air alerts in the near future and remove cars damaged by shelling from the streets.
Tkachenko announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"At the next meeting of the Defense Council, I am submitting the following issues for consideration: 1. Development of the algorithm for the operation of ground public transport during air alerts," he said.
Tkachenko also intends to introduce business trips abroad for all representatives of Kyiv local governments and employees of the Kyiv City Military Administration with the approval of the Defense Council.
He also plans to remove cars damaged by russian shelling from the city streets.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 31, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Tymur Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv City Military Administration to replace Serhii Popko.
The Kyiv City State Administration has introduced a rule to stop public transport during air alerts since August 2022, with passengers recommended to get out of transport and head to the nearest shelters.
After that, Kyiv residents repeatedly created petitions asking the capital authorities to cancel the stoppage of public transport during air alerts, but the Kyiv authorities rejected them.
