Syrskyi stresses need to ensure full 14-day adaptation period for recruits in brigades

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has stressed the need to ensure a full 14-day adaptation period for recruits in brigades.

Syrskyi announced this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

He, in particular, said that he plans to increase the duration of military training to participate in combat operations to 2 months.

Syrskyi added that the further course of a recruit in a military unit is 5-14 days.

"However, in the current conditions of intensive combat operations, this requirement is not always met. He stressed the need to ensure a full, 14-day, adaptation period for recruits in brigades. Commanders must maximally prepare a soldier for the challenges of modern warfare in order to keep him in combat," he said.

Syrskyi said that during the final annual meeting on military training, he identified tasks for improving the quality of training and its expansion, in particular, updating the standards of basic general military training, conducting the basic general military training at the bases of combat brigades.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in October, Syrskyi announced that in December he would make a decision on a new model of basic general military training.
