US President Biden will use the last weeks of his power to consolidate aid to Ukraine - Bloomberg

Current US President Joe Biden is preparing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He may try to use his remaining weeks in power to cement his foreign policy legacy.

This is reported by the Bloomberg agency.

According to the agency, US foreign policy can already move forward without Biden, as all attention is focused on the future President - Donald Trump. However, the current head of the White House may try to consolidate his successes in foreign policy, including helping Ukraine defend against russian aggression.

Rumors that Trump is going to cancel aid to Ukraine are forcing Biden and his administration to act more actively during the remaining time in office, the journalists noted. For example, at the meeting with Xi Jinping, the parties are going to discuss the stability of the world order and the war in Ukraine, as US national security adviser Jake Sullivan shared.

The agency said that Trump could influence the war in the Middle East. Journalists recalled that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ignored Biden's call to limit civilian casualties in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, but with the arrival of a Republican in the White House, the situation may change.

Trump moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem during his first term as President, sending a powerful signal to the Israeli government. They believe that it is necessary to take advantage of the moment and establish sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, while simultaneously striking at Iran's nuclear program, the agency noted.

According to some Israeli media, Trump intends to completely end the war in the Middle East. He wants to discuss a cease-fire plan with Netanyahu, potentially paving the way for a grand deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia, the journalists said.

In addition, billionaire Elon Musk, who is gradually becoming an unofficial adviser to Trump, met with Iranian diplomats at the United Nations this week to discuss reducing tensions with the United States, the agency said.
