The Cabinet of Ministers approved a new program to support the defense-industrial complex: critical enterprises will be able to receive a loan of up to UAH 500 million for 5 years at 5% per annum.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Enterprises that the Ministry of Strategic Industries deems to be critically important will be able to get a loan of up to UAH 500 million, for up to 5 years, at 5% per annum. The new corresponding program of preferential lending to the defense industry was approved today at the Government meeting," he said.
The funds can be spent either on replenishment of working capital or on the implementation of investment projects.
The government expects that next year the volume of weapons production will significantly exceed this year's indicators.
Shmyhal noted that today in Ukraine, more than 500 defense enterprises work and produce various weapons: ammunition, drones, guns, armored vehicles.
He emphasized that the government is interested in increasing the number of such manufacturers.
