l receive Mirage 2000 aircraft from France in the coming months. The first planes will be delivered in early 2025.
This was stated by the head of French diplomacy at the press conference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Noël Barrot, and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.
So, according to him, France will help and support Ukraine.
"Our help is manifested in concrete examples. As for the defense sector, we provide Ukraine with equipment and military equipment. Also, France is the first country to train an entire brigade, the Anna Kyiv Brigade. The first Mirage 2000 aircraft will be provided to Ukraine at the beginning of next year," the minister said.
Also, according to him, France will train the pilots of these planes.
Back in June, it was reported that by the end of 2024, the Ukrainian combat aircraft fleet could be replenished with not two, but three types of Western-style aircraft. As it `became known, the French Mirage 2000-5 will join the F-16 fighters and the ACS 890 long-range reconnaissance aircraft.
Currently, it is known that France plans to transfer 20 units of Mirage 2000-5F fighters to Ukraine. At the same time, Paris later adjusted the delivery date - they will begin in the first quarter of 2025. In addition, it is not excluded that Ukraine may receive a modernized version of Mirage-2000 fighters.
