Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that in the coming days, the Israeli army will begin a new phase of the military operation against the Lebanese organization "Hezbollah".
Gallant said this while addressing the heads of border settlements. His words are quoted by The Times of Israel.
"The next phase of the war against Hezbollah will begin soon. It will be an important factor in changing the security situation," Gallant said.
According to him, the new stage of the operation will make it possible to complete the "important mission" of returning residents to their homes.
The publication notes that with this statement, Gallant made it clear that Israel would launch a ground offensive in Lebanon.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 27, Israeli forces attacked the Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut, where the head of the organization, Hassan Nasrallah, may have been.
Later it became known that Nasrallah really was killed as a result of an airstrike by the Israeli army.
It will be recalled that on September 26, the Israeli authorities rejected the US plan to cease fire in Lebanon.
