Colonel Ivan Vinnik was dismissed from the post of the Commander of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. Currently, the unit is defending in the area of the city of Vuhledar, Donetsk Region.
This is evidenced by a message published on the official website of the unit.
"Gentlemen, officers, sergeants, soldiers! From the summer of 2022 until today, I had a long and difficult path. But it was not difficult, because I did not overcome it alone. I had a loyal and motivated team nearby <...> For me it was an honor to be a part of the Black Zaporozhians, and the bond that was formed between us will remain forever," says Vinnik's team.
The officer thanked the servicemen of the unit for "patience, will and strength", as well as for the joint struggle against the russian invaders.

On September 20, the North Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Vinnik's resignation. Then the Operational Command said that the colonel was appointed to a higher position for the purpose of promotion and to transfer combat experience.

We will remind, on August 30, MP Mariana Bezuhla stated that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, allegedly wants to withdraw the 72nd brigade from Vuhledar to send it to another part of the front.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 25, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration announced that russian sabotage and intelligence groups are trying to break into Vuhledar.
Earlier, before that, British intelligence reported that russian troops were attacking the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Vuhledar from three directions at once.
