Donor contributions to Energy Support Fund of Ukraine reach EUR 550 million

Donor contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine have reached more than EUR 550 million.

This is stated in the message of the government, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Another direction of energy strengthening is attracting help from partners. A group has been formed at the Ministry of Energy to coordinate international aid. The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine has already accumulated more than EUR 550 million in contributions. Every week we receive specific aid from states, international organizations and institutions. We work with ENTSO-E partners to increase Ukraine's opportunities for electricity import before the onset of winter," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is quoted in the message.

Also, according to him, the frontline areas are being prepared for the winter period.

"During the off-site meetings of the government, they took control of solving the problem of wood harvesting. Today, by a separate resolution, we are opening up wider opportunities for this. Residents of the front-line communities will be able to collect firewood for household needs for free without harming our forests," Shmyhal added.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Germany will contribute EUR 50 million to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine.
The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was established in the spring of 2022.
