The Cabinet of Ministers has allowed the residents of the frontline areas to collect firewood for household needs for free.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Residents of the territories where hostilities are/were conducted will be able to harvest firewood for household needs free of charge. It is about cuttings that remain after felling. Logging will be possible provided that it is safe to stay in the corresponding forest areas. Informing the population about the possibility of independent logging will be carried out by local military administrations (local self-government bodies)," the message reads.
It is noted that this norm will be in effect during the legal regime of martial law and within 6 months from the date of its termination or cancellation.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2022, the state-owned firewood online store for the population Drovae began operating in Ukraine.
