Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi believes that the settlement of the "conflict in Ukraine" should take place at the negotiating table, but the conditions and time are not yet ripe.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China about Wang Yi's talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in Guangzhou, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Wang Yi noted that the "crisis in Ukraine" (as the russian war against Ukraine is called in China) has entered its third year, and the conflict is still ongoing and there are risks of escalation, and emphasized that China has always been firmly committed to promoting a political solution to the crisis.
"China believes that the resolution of all conflicts must ultimately return to the negotiating table. Recently, both Ukraine and russia have sent varying degrees of signals that they are ready for negotiations, although the conditions and time are not yet ripe, we support all efforts that contribute to peace, and are ready to continue to play a constructive role for a ceasefire and the resumption of peace talks," the statement said.

It is noted that China pays close attention to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and will continue to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid.

According to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Kuleba noted that Ukraine highly values China's positive and constructive role in promoting peace and maintaining international order, and attaches great importance to China's opinion, and carefully studied the "six-point consensus" reached by China and Brazil on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

It is also noted that Ukraine is willing and ready for dialogue and negotiations with russia, but such negotiations should be reasonable and objective, aimed at achieving a just and durable peace.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kuleba will pay an official visit to China on July 23-25 to find ways to stop russian aggression and discuss China's possible role in achieving a sustainable and just peace. This is the first bilateral visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to China since 2012.
During his visit to China, Kuleba said that a just peace in Ukraine corresponds to China's strategic interests.
Regarding the visit to China, Kuleba noted that it is necessary to avoid competing peace plans, it is very important that Kyiv and Beijing conduct a direct dialogue and exchange positions.
