In 2023, the largest oil-producing company, Ukrnafta, transferred to the state budget UAH 748 million in dividends received from the activities of the private joint-stock company, Ukrnaftoburinnia, which is under state management.
This follows from a statement by the company, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"In May 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine agreed with the proposal of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) to transfer the corporate rights of Ukrnaftoburinnia to the management of Ukrnafta. In July 2023, Ukrnafta appointed new management of Ukrnaftoburinnia and started managing the mining company that developed the Sakhalinske Field," the message says.
According to the report, the result was an increase in the average daily production of gas from 1.262 million cubic meters to 1.560 million cubic meters, an increase in the average daily production of hydrocarbons (condensate, oil, and LPG) from 124 tons to 164 tons.
Also, from January 1 to July 12, 2023, the profit of Ukrnaftoburinnia amounted to UAH 186 million, while after the transfer to management from July 12 to December 31, 2023, the company received a profit of UAH 831 million.
"At the same time, in November 2023, at the request of the State Geological Survey, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal canceled the special permit for production at the Sakhalinske Field. Ukrnaftoburinnia appealed to the court and is doing everything possible to resume gas production, as it is critically needed for the country to pass the next heating season. The case is currently under review," the message says.
Also, ARMA, together with Ukrnafta, appealed to the Council of National Security and Defense with a request to resolve the issue of gas production at the Sakhalinske Field.
In addition, ARMA initiated amendments to the Code of Ukraine on the Subsoil regarding the possibility of gas extraction in the Sakhalinske Field without a special permit during the war.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 1, 2023, Ukrnaftoburinnia stopped production of natural gas and gas condensate at the Sakhalinske Oil and Gas Condensate field on December 1, 2023, due to the cancellation of a special permit for subsoil use by the court.
At the same time, the production of the Ukrnaftoburinnia company amounted to 1.4 million cubic meters. m of gas per day until the forced ceasing of work on December 1, 2023, by court decision.
In May 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the corporate rights of Ukrnaftoburinnia to the management of the largest oil production company, Ukrnafta.
In April, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv transferred to ARMA the corporate rights of Ukrnaftoburinnia, which were seized as part of criminal proceedings.
Ukrnaftoburinnia conducts industrial development of the Sakhalin gas field and gas condensate.
In 2022, the company's gas production amounted to 415 million cubic meters (2.2% of total gas production in Ukraine).
Previously, Ukrnaftoburinnia was affiliated with businessmen Vitalii Khomutynnik and Ihor Kolomoiskyi.
