Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 35.7% To 2,516, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 24.1% To 63 On January 24

On January 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 2,516 over January 23 to 1,194,328, and the number of deaths increased by 63 over January 23 to 21,924; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 35.7%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 24.1%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of January 25, there were 1,194,328 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 21,924 lethal cases; besides, 953,297 people had recovered.

On January 24, a total of 2,516 new cases of the disease were recorded, 63 people died, and 5,783 people recovered.

Therefore, as at January 24, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (5,783 vs 2,516).

As at the morning of January 25, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 219,107, down 1.5% over January 24.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (126,264), Odesa region (80,220), and Kharkiv region (76,464).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 69,403 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 67,864; Dnipropetrovsk region – 66,338 cases, Zaporizhia region – 64,401, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 46,817, Sumy region – 45,240, Rivne region – 45,081, Cherkasy region - 44,994, Chernivtsi region – 44,309, Zhytomyr region – 43,613, Khmelnytskyi region – 43,245, and Donetsk region – 43,174.

A total of 42,404 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 37,989 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 36,992 cases - in Ternopil region, 36,114 cases - in Volyn region, 33,235 cases – in Chernihiv region, 30,709 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 25,966 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 20,348 cases – in Kherson region, 13,535 – in Luhansk region, and 9,609 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,915 over January 22 to 1,191,812, and the number of deaths increased by 83 over January 22 to 21,861; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 20.6%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 28.5%.

On January 22, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,928 over January 21 to 1,187,897, and the number of deaths increased by 116 over January 21 to 21,778; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 7.9%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 28.8%.
