Memorandum Between Ukraine And IMF Not Signed Yet
The cooperation memorandum between the Ukrainian government and the International Monetary Fund has not been signed yet.
Sources in the Ukrainian government and the National Bank of Ukraine told this to Ukrainian News Agency.
"The document has not been signed yet by the Ukrainian party. The end of work at the wording of the document and the signing is expected in the near future," a source said.
A source in the Finance Ministry did not confirm information that the memorandum with the International Monetary Fund had been signed.
"We are at the final stage of approval with the International Monetary Fund," the source in the Finance Ministry said.
The sum of the tranche is expected to make USD 1 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February 2017, National Bank Governor Valeriya Hontareva had negotiations with representatives of the International Monetary Fund on allocation of another tranche worth USD 1 billion within the EFF (Extended Fund Facility) program to Ukraine.
Participation of Finance Minister Danyliuk was expected but he did not travel to Washington.
In December 2016, National Bank Governor Valeriya Hontareva said Ukraine could receive the next tranche from the International Monetary Fund in January 2017.
In mid January 2017, following negotiations with leaders of the IMF in Davos Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk said the issue was moved to early February.
In February, he said some technical issues required discussions.
In mid February, NBU Governor Hontareva predicted that the tranche will be allocated late in February - early March.
