Poroshenko Orders Information Ministry Inspect Media, Internet Resources To Reveal Information Prohibited In Ukraine

President Petro Poroshenko has ordered the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine to monitor regularly Ukrainian media and Internet resources open to the public to reveal information prohibited in the territory of Ukraine.

Press service of the President of Ukraine said this in a statement with the reference to a presidential decree that approves Ukrainian Informational Security Doctrine, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Doctrine is aimed at specification of principles of elaboration and carrying out of state information policy, first of all to counter the detrimental effects of the information emanating from Russia under the circumstances of the unleashed hybrid war.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has been tasked to ensure carrying out the state information policy, financing of programs connected with information security as well as to generally steer and coordinate work of ministries and other bodies of the executive power in the field.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported earlier, the Freedom House non-government organization had ranked Ukraine among the countries with limited freedom of mass-media.
