Poroshenko: 2,608 Military Killed During ATO

President Petro Poroshenko says 2,608 Ukrainian military have been killed during the anti-terrorist operation (ATO).

He announced this when addressing the operational meeting of key personnel of the Armed Forces, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"2,608 Ukrainian military were killed during the aggression. 2,200 of them were from the Armed Forces", President said.

Those present at the meeting honored the memory of the killed soldiers and Heavenly Hundred Heroes with a minute of silence.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 113.7 million for provision of one-time assistance to the citizens that were injured during mass protests in the period of November 2013-February 2014, as well as to the families of the people killed during the protests.
