Official Unemployment Rate Up 0.1 Percentage Point To 1.6% In January

In January 2017, the official unemployment rose by 0.1 percentage point to 1.6%.

The State Statistics Service has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

As at February 1, 2017, the State Employment Service registered 429,000 unemployed people.

A total of 390,800 unemployed were registered at the State Employment Service as at January 1, 2017.

The number of unemployed, who received state assistance in January was 351,200; the average allowance was UAH 2,015 per person.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in December, the official unemployment rose by 0.2 percentage point to 1.5%.
