Internal Ministry: 5 Civilians Wounded, 24 Buildings Damaged In Avdiivka, Donetsk Region As Militants Shelling Town Since January 29

The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that five civilians were wounded and 24 buildings damaged in Avdiivka, Donetsk Region as militants have been shelling the town since January 29.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the Ministry press service.

Avdiivka residents have filed 48 statements to the police, 21 of them concern consequences of militants' artillery attacks.

Approximately 25,000 people are left in the town.

Over a hundred police a patrolling the streets in two-hour shifts.

Immediate reaction forces and KORD special unit are providing examination of vehicles.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, February 2, Ukraine is chairing an open session of the United Nations Security Council on the situation in Avdiivka.
