Poroshenko To Convene NSDC Military Cabinet On Situation In Avdiivka, Donetsk Region
President Petro Poroshenko will soon convene a meeting of the military cabinet of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) on the situation in Avdiivka, Donetsk Region.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a well-informed source.
The exact time has not been agreed yet.
Military cabinet meetings are convoked by NSDC Secretary on the President's errand, and are presided by the Head of State.
Its main tasks, inter alia, are discussing proposals to employ security and defence forces and means to baffle armed aggression; leading strategic deployment, preparation and use of means and forces for operations, strategic or combat action; considering draft resolutions to use means and forces, decisions (plans) of force groupings' commanders to prepare and carry operations and combat actions for submitting respective NSDC proposals to the President.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Donetsk regional civil-military administration has declared a state of emergency in Avdiivka, and set up an emergency response centre.
