Zelenskyy meets with Ukrainian military air defense specialists in Saudi Arabia

Ukrainian expertise in the field of air defense will help strengthen the security of Saudi Arabia and protect the region from Iranian drones and missiles. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to the Middle East.

While in Saudi Arabia, the head of state met with Ukrainian military specialists, who for a week analyzed the vulnerabilities of the local sky and developed methods for countering air threats. The results of the work identified specific steps that Ukraine can implement together with partners to protect the civilian population.

"The main task of our experts on air defense in this region is to identify problematic issues and determine what changes are needed to strengthen the protection of people and life from Iranian Shaheds and missiles. I am grateful to the guys for their very prompt and thorough work. There are specific things that we can do together with our partners," he noted.

During the talks, special attention was paid to modern approaches to shooting down drones, which became the basis for the proposal of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation. The President emphasized that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise with countries that support it in the war for independence, thus strengthening the global security system.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that Ukraine had received a request from the United States for support in protecting against Shahed drones in the Middle East region.

Later, it was decided that Ukrainian specialists would go to the Middle East to protect American bases from Iranian drones.
