US President Donald Trump said that Greenland is necessary for the United States for the Iron Dome and NATO, he added, should pave the way to it. In addition, he noted that he was taking US military power to a new level.

He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social

"The United States needs Greenland for the purpose of National Security. It is vital for the Golden Dome that we are building. NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. If we don't, Russia or China will, and this is not going to happen!" he said.

The US president also said in his statement that NATO without US military power "would not be an effective force or deterrent". In addition, he claims that he is now "bringing US military power to a new and even higher level."

"NATO becomes far more formiddable and effective wis Greenland in the hands of the United States. Anything less than that is unacceptable. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump concluded.

Note Last January, Trump signed an executive order directing the US military to build an "Iron Dome" for the country by the end of his term, and in May it was renamed the "Golden Dome."

A name similar to the Israeli system, however, it is noted that it is more similar to the Strategic Defense Initiative proposed by former President Ronald Reagan in 1983.

It is a multi-level missile defense system for the United States, designed to detect and destroy ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missiles before they are launched or during flight, and also provides for the deployment of a warning system and interceptors in space.

On January 13, Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said that Greenland does not want to be part of the United States. He emphasized that the country chooses the Greenland it knows today, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

On January 12, Denmark recalled the international recognition of Greenland as part of Denmark, as well as the right of the Greenlanders themselves to decide their future.

Meanwhile, a proposal was submitted to the National Assembly (lower house of parliament) of France to withdraw the country from NATO against the backdrop of US actions under the leadership of President Donald Trump.

In addition, NATO countries are considering the possibility of launching a separate joint mission to monitor and ensure security in the Arctic region, in particular around Greenland.
