Serviceman causes fatal accident in Kyiv: young woman killed and 2 children injured

Officers of the State Bureau of Investigation have opened a criminal investigation into a traffic accident involving a serviceman, which resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to two other children. It was reported by the agency.

According to the investigation, on the afternoon of December 27, 2025, in Kyiv, at the intersection of Akademika Zabolotnoho and Ivana Sirka streets, an SUV driven by a serviceman at high speed crashed into a car that stopped at a red traffic light. Inside the car were a mother with two young daughters and their aunt, who were on their way to visit relatives for the holidays.

The woman, who was sitting in the passenger seat, died on the spot from her injuries. Two young children were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the rules of driving or operation of a vehicle by a serviceman, which led to the death of a person. The article provides for up to five years in prison.

As previously reported, the day before, the defender of the Metalist 1925 football club Kravets, together with his wife and daughter, was involved in an accident.
