Deputy head of the Central Election Commission Serhii Dubovyk said that the next elections, taking into account all related expenses, could cost Ukraine about UAH 20 billion.

During an interview with RBC Ukraine, he compared that the 2019 elections cost UAH 2 billion, but inflation and "new conditions" are driving up the cost.

Local and parliamentary elections will cost UAH 4-5 billion , while presidential elections are expected to be more expensive: UAH 4-5 billion for the first round and UAH 6.5-7 billion for the second round.

70% of all expenses are spent on salaries of members of district, precinct and territorial election commissions. However, this amount does not include the costs of local governments for the preparation of polling stations and material support. It is also necessary to take into account the potential increase in the number of polling stations abroad, says Dubovyk.
