In fall, there was moment when there were no Ukrainian soldiers in Pokrovsk - Syrskyi

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that at a certain moment there were no units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region.

According to RBC-Ukraine, he said this during a conversation with media representatives.

According to him, in the fall, at a certain point, there were no Ukrainian military in the territory of Pokrovsk. The situation changed after the offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"However, since November 15, as a result of our offensive actions, we were able to take control of about 13 square kilometers of territory within Pokrovsk," Syrskyi said.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian military continue to keep the northern part of the city under their control. The contact line actually runs along the railroad.

In addition, the Ukrainian military cleared a number of positions near the western outskirts of the city. Thanks to these actions, about 54 square kilometers of the territory were brought back under control.

Syrskyi also said that the recent deterioration in weather conditions has complicated the situation in Pokrovsk. Due to the fog and rain, the Ukrainian military could not effectively use drones to detect and engage russian infantry groups

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, December 8, the DeepState analytical project said that russian troops occupied five settlements south of Myrnohrad, Donetsk Region.

Later, the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported that south of Myrnohrad, Ukrainian troops made a maneuver aimed at preventing encirclement and leveling the front line.
